Abstract
Microscopic study of vein quartz in thin-sections from several veins of Kyshtym region at the Urals has allowed distinguishing several types of quartz grains differing by their shape, anatomy and character of the intergrowth boundaries. Thus, grains have been segregated into four groups with carried out separately stereometric and ontogenic analyses. In this way, for quartz grains of different groups, there were revealed consequence of their formation and influence of their quantitative contents and distribution in quartz aggregates upon commercial availability of the quartz crystal material for technological purposes.
Key words: anatomy of individuals, boundary roughness, ontogeny, stereometric analysis, estimation of the quartz quality.
