Abstract

The paper displays new data on compositions of rock-forming minerals in calcite-magnetite-serpentine rocks of the Seligdar apatite ore deposit. It is shown that magnetite, apatite, calcite and biotite of these rocks are similar by composition to analogous minerals of the carbonatite series or continue their crystallization trends. That is the evidence for their magmatic origin as for the whole deposit. Magnetite-rutile structures of the solid solution decay and close intergrowths of apatite with the thorium-rich monazite are considered as typomorphic features of the ore-bearing formation of the Seligdar type.

Key words: Seligdar, phoscorite, carbonatite, magnetite, rutile, apatite, calcite, Ba-bearing phlogopite.
