Abstract

Mineralogical seminar with international participation «Modern Problems of Theoretical, Experimental and Applied Mineralogy» (Yushkin Memorial Seminar-2018) was held in the Institute of Geology of the Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Syktyvkar from the 22^nd to the 24^th of May, 2018. In 2018, participants from 76 organizations from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Germany presented 166 theses. Full-time participation in the seminar was attended by 119 people from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Perm, Apatity, Ukhta, Kazan, Syktyvkar. The last day of the seminar was marked by an offsite meeting with a discussion on the most important and controversial issues, and the results of the seminar were summed up. Experts from various scientific organizations of Russia noted a high level of organization and conduct. All participants unanimously supported the idea of holding the next, fifth, Yushkin Memorial Seminar in 2021 dedicated to the 85^th anniversary of Academician N. P. Yushkin.
