Abstract
Characteristics of chrome spinel inclusions in PGE minerals from four gold placers in the Southern Ural (Maloiremel, Bayramgul, Ingul, and Kazan) are given. On the basis of a comparison of the composition of chrome spinels from inclusions and from ore-bearing chromitites, it was concluded that the PGE mineral sources for the Maloiremel placer were in the northern part of the Nuraly ultramafic massif. For Bayramul and Ingul placers, the PGE mineral source was the occurrence in the Karabash massif. For the Kazan placer, the source of PGE minerals was the Gogin massif, which has elements of concentric zoning.
Key words: chrome spinels, native ruthenium, osmium, iridium, ultramafites, placers, Southern Urals.
