Abstract

The paper displays new data about different generations of pyrite and pyrrhotite in gold ore deposit Golets Vysochaishiy (Bodaibo area, Irkutsk region). These generations are distinguished by morphological, geochemical and isotope (δ34S) features. Obtained characteristics of pyrite generations reflect the evolution of mineral-forming system during the formation of Golets Vysochaishiy deposit. Every generation of pyrite is connected with a certain stage in evolution of Neoproterozoic rocks in the region: 1) diagenesis (610 Ma); 2) catagenesis (570–520 Ma); 3) metamorphism (~450–430 Ma); 4) tectonic-magmatic activation (330–270 Ma). Dating of pyrite-III and pyrite-IV generations by 40Ar/39Ar method has shown the ages corresponding to previously determined two temporal stages of the goldore-forming and the granite magmatism appearance.
