Abstract

The article is devoted to the question of the place of organic origin compounds in the general systematic of minerals. Under consideration of some aspects in the history of mineralogy, there are explained reasons for excluding non-crystalline organic substances from mineralogical classification. It was concluded that obtaining knowledge about the structure and properties of the organic mineraloids will help in building their classification according to the structural-chemical principle and, as a consequence, understanding their place in the mineral kingdom. The final solution to this issue will be in the future.
